I really really hope Blizzard fixes (somehow) the system in 1.12. The only thing that would REALLY fix it would be a linear pvp grind, need 1 million CP to hit rank 11, 5 million to hit rank 14. There is no decay.
On the one hand, thats a fucking lot of CP to get - I've been casually PvP'ing all week and I think I've got about 140k. That'd be like 7 weeks to hit rank 11, and .. 28 weeks to hit rank 14? But I can just log in and casually pvp and I'll hit it eventually. Thats not true today. |
That isn't the right solution either. Joe Casual SHOULDN'T be able to hit 14. You should have to be in either a pvp guild or very solid pvp group to hit 14. Currently, there's a third way: massive play time. I completely disagree that it should be possible to lose every bg you're ever in and get 0 HK but make HWL. By your version, that's possible like 2 years down the road or w/e.
Decay is good, it keeps you on your toes. It forces you to stay active. What's bad is when you lose progress. A good idea would be to keep decay as it is, possibly even increase it a bit in the r6-11 range, just make it so you can't ever lose ranking points. They also need to grossly increase the RP allotments .. again. #1 gets 13k and #3 generally gets somethign like 12.2k. It should be closer to #10 gets 12k. #50 gets 11k. #150 gets 10k.
