You're trying to argue that snare is definition 2. It can equally be argued that snare is definition 1. Certainly kiting is using snare productively. It's all a matter of degree. Ultimately, kiting utilizes snare to lower some risk. The same actions could be taken without snare, it would just be more risky. If using one's abilities to keep the monster from killing you is an exploit, I think we're pretty much all in trouble.
