IMHO any cybernetics research facility should be working close with biochemistry facilities trying to characterize growth factors and other substrates needed to sustain neurons. These Japanese are going about things all wrong.
I'd be much more impressed to see a simple lcd light associated with a neuronal axon in a petri dish full of serum turning on and off according to the addition of a neurotransmitter. |
