| You don't want mainstream but like Jay-z.... he's as mainstream as it gets. There is a lot of rap out there from the "mainstream artist" that is not mainstream, try listining to the other tracks on the CD's and you might be suprised.
DMX is more street level than Jay-z, a lot of his music could not get released as singles and be as popular as what some of his music has been. DMX was the shit long before he ever blew up and became "radio bullshit".
