The last time I saw players make a real impact on the world in an MMO was old-school Rallos Zek in EQ. Covetous Crew took over Najena and cut off the entire server from acquiring Jboots/Large Bronze. Meanwhile Hidden Power became the pirates of OOT and killed anyone who got off the boat making OOT into a private leveling ground.
I've been meaning to try EVE ever since the game was released. I've downloaded the trial several times but got discouraged after reading about time it takes to skill up in the game. I imagine myself playing, making some bad spec decesion and ending up with a few weeks/months of wasted time. |
