| You probably couldn't "catch up" to them in terms of power, ever. How leveling works in EVE is that you train skills at a base, and these skills have a determined time until you gain a level in that skill. You basically go to your base, pick a skill you want to train, click on train, and then go out while your skill is training. It also trains while you're offline. (I know that you know all that, but I'm saying it for the others who have never heard of how Eve works :P)
The catch is that level 1-2-3 of a skill take like 15 mins, 1 hour and 6 hours. But 4-5 can take days and weeks, and you can only train 1 skill at a time. So advancing is pretty slow if you're used to WoW or EQ. You can get some decent ships and equipments in around a week of play, but don't expect to chilling around in dreadnoughts and heavy ships for a while.
So yeah, it would take you years to get exactly where BOB is in terms of skill points, but you can still kill them as all ships are designed to have a weak point and even the first ship you can use (frigate I think?) has its uses in warfare. |
