Before you get people here all hopped-up on EVE sauce again, let's get one thing out there in the open.

What would it take to contend with someone in BOB? In terms of time-investment; from scratch.

Curious.

And, I played EVE for about two months or so a while back, with some others from fohguild.org; I found it near impossible to get a decent ship out in the lawless areas, and even then there were people who'd put so many hours into the game it was impossible to play catch-up.

In WoW, I can level a twink to 60 in two weeks, with modest playing. There is such a steep leveling curve in EVE, that I think anyone who goes into it expecting to powerlevel their way to a battleship (let alone carrier, whatever) and most especially people from this board, that they will get frustrated in the attempt.

Either that or they whack-off to their original SW:ANH poster, and all is well with the world.
