| I typically give a series three tries to get into things. Thief is on it's last chance.
I can sum up my main complaint in regard to the show as the following: It feels more like I'm watching a show that's been on for two months rather than one that's been on for two episodes.
First off, they keep referring to things like we know what they're talking about. I realize they're trying to foreshadow future episodes or slowly give us important information overtime, but in the meanwhile, we're getting next to nothing. I don't know anything about the characters on the show. I couldn't even tell you any of their names. Two weeks into a show, I should feel something besides apathy for everyone on it. They're just all faceless at this point.
Also, I don't like how they're killing off what could've been interesting characters so fast. I mean, come on, it's been two episodes, and they've already offed what, at first glance, appeared to be three more central characters. At least let us get to know these characters before they're killed. I know they're trying to show just how bad these people are, but that really doesn't come across unless you actually give a crap about these people.
Like I said, I'll give it one more chance. It has the potential to be good, but it will never get there if they don't pick up the pace. |
