On my shaman I specced 30 resto and went purification/parry so I could be the best instance healer I could be. You still get shit on by all the priests/druids because of the other 90% of shamans that don't/won't heal.

Then don't group with him if he doesn't heal! It's that simple!
I personally prefer duoing in AV with a shadow priest than with a mage because he doesn't drop dead whenever a rogue leaves stealth and he can actually throw me a shield.
