I can't stand Bill Paxton in any other movie either. His throaty/slurred speech and squinty eyes throw me off, along with his poor delivery, but ::gasp::, holy shit, he's my favorite character on the show so far, next to the daughter. Something about him screams "Likable Mormon", which is such a brutal oxymoron I can barely stand typing it.
But anyway, first episode: C+. I look forward to strong character development and the relationship that will unfold between the wives. Otherwise, it was a slow, quiet episode that just plodded along introducing characters in a Lynchian sort of way. Still though, I can only see good things coming from such a fascinating/fucked up theme.
