| I am not going to make judgments too much on people's lifestyle choices, but I would agree that it can be irresponsible parenting. People in the community are going to find out one way or another, most likely in the stripper example when some dad who saw the hot chick at PTA or in the parking lot ends up at her club in the city for an old friend's bachelor party. People are petty, insecure gossipy animals and children are even worse for the most part. That shit will get out and your children will be ridiculed by their peers, even if they are too young to fully grasp what they are ridiculing. It is confusing and traumatic enough to grow up and go to school without your classmates' parents going around whispering about your mom every time they see you or hear your name.
In that sense I would argue that it is immoral. If you are unwilling to make the sacrifice and take a "respectable" job for the sake of your innocent child's safety and sanity, then you are morally bankrupt and deserve scorn. And don't tell me that they might need the money to support the child. Show some responsibility and don't get knocked up with kids you can't support. All the good intentions in the world won't change the scarring you might subject a child to as a result of your career choice. Maybe society is being unfair and narrow minded, but that is secondary to the reality of the situation and the potential consequences. Being a parent is all about compromise and thinking of your children's needs before your own.
Just thought I would throw that out since most people in the thread won't argue against freedom of choice, and nyx is entirely inept.
