| I'm slightly lost on the appeal of the series. I loathed the first, second, and tolerated the third, though it was a similar monster bash without as many inane control problems. Recently played the 6th for about an 4 hours and wasn't drawn in either. Too many random encounters, takes forever to level up, story is sluggish with uninteresting, generic characters.
While in the end most rpgs are just random encounter fests, I just found this series (at least the games that I have played) excessively so, and not much else. I'll likely rent 8 anyway just to see if I can get interested. |
