1) conforms to my hand better
2) somehow straps directly to my hand, so that my thumb doesn't have to hold it and push buttons at the same time.
Although that current implementation is flawed IMO, the more I look at it and think about its concepts, the more I am convinced that Nintendo has really stumbled on to something.
*If they gave the cord more slack, we would have a plethora of new viable sitting/lounging options for console gaming.
