| AA's suck. The problem is while they give shortterm longevity, they severely hurt the game in the long run. Take a look at eq1 now, it is impossible to make a new char and get into the raiding game without being totally useless.
Want to make a warrior? Good, you only need 150+aa to even SURVIVE (this next expansion is coming out with lr15/id15, grats on 10 more aa required), and another couple hundred to keep aggro properly. EQ showed aa's of any significance really doesn't work (what started off as 10% avoidance and mitigation is now up to 40% less dmg taken, thus REQUIRED for any melee).
Of course you could make the rewards 'bonus' items stated above like faster flightpaths etc, but you could just as easily do that via the faction system, which is currently wow's version of aa's, they'd just need to fix the rewards a little and add a bit more. |
