| I bought it because i'm a huge Miyamato fan and it's had massive success in Japan. I really like it.
It's essentially a glorified digital pet, as you said. I don't think of it as a game, but more of an innovative work of art. There are definitely game elements to it, such as improving your dog's stamina, teaching it new tricks, winning competitions and earning money to buy new things with, finding all the items, etc. But it's mostly just being in awe of how realistic the dogs look and act, and being surprised at how attached you actually get to them. Call me a pussy, but i'm telling you it's true.
There's really not much depth to the game at all, so it's not for powergamers. Just a highly polished, innovative (uses everything the DS has to offer perfectly, it feels like the DS was made for this game) work of art. |
