| Feardotcom was ok
The storyline was off. Granted the perceptions of the main characters were supposed to be warped, a lot of things still didn't make sense. Cinematography was good, the whole movie is very moody, the sets are always cluttered and dark creating a claustrophobic feel, although you begin to wonder why noone ever turns on the lights. Reason I didn't like it too much was that the movie just wasn't that scary. It was disturbing for the imagery, especially the often intercut scenes of women being tortured, which piques a sort of morbid fascination, but it didn't inspire any fear in me. Still, I was never less than interested in the movie, so I guess I was technically entertained. It just didn't have that oomph that Blair Witch or Event Horizon, good horror movies, have.
I'm looking forward to The Ring, which this movie appears to be a blatant rip off of. The trailer for that is fucking hardcore. |
