I agree with you that the style is absolutely dependent on the delievery, but that is what I enjoy most about it. You're hearing the poem just as the poet wants you too. For me it's refreshing to see the amount of energy some of the poets have, Wakefield being a prime example. Another thing about him is while the delivery is incredible, the content is just as rich.
