Yes, the graphics look fine, but the combat and combat animations look like EQ, just nicer. The animations look pretty awful to be honest.
It could still be a great game, I'll probably still pick it up and play it, but let's be honest, there are plenty of people who WONT, because it DOESN'T look as good or as fluid to play as say WoW. Sure it looks better standing still, if you like that art style, but WoW, for all it's MANY problems, it feels and looks excellent, the animation is absolutely superb, and it is easy to get into because of how fluidly combat plays out.
Vanguard so far looks clunky and EQish. I have to say, for the NEXT GENERATION OF MMOs, I was expecting to be woah'ed. That video was anything but awe-inspiring. In fact it really kind of makes me appreciate just how great the WoW art style and animation is.
Hopefully the GAME will still be good, but this doesn't really inspire confidence. |
