And here we go with correcting,
I don't think EQ1's death penalty was heinous and Vanguards will not be as hardcore. You leave a coprse yeah, all your equipment will be ther yeah, but you will spawn at an outpost near where you fell according to Brad. Also a "Silvery cord" will be availible to help you find the corpse should you need it.
Where has anyone stated that there wil be long leveling curves? Hell, where has really anyone explained the level system, exp system and questing system in detail? you don't know about this at all. You are assuming just cause you played a Brad McQuaid game. I admit that I don't know either, but just playing Kreskin don't fly.
And about forcing guilds, Brad has repeatedly stated that they are designing the game to ahve enough content to support a large number of end game people. They problem with PoP and the rest of EQ1's expansions is that there is a predetirmed/hard-coded path of progresstion. there was no choice. You did it ONE way. Yeah some of the steps in between could be done in different order but the same content and mobs were involved. Brad sya they will ahve a world where there is enough content that if one is taken there is a perfectly good, equal in risk/reward somewhere else. He also put forth the thought.. What if the high end raid mobs (that you seem to think everyone will race too) are only spawnable via a quest. Hard to race there if you can't start the quest.
