| I was the only child in my kindergarden class that would say "NO" to the teacher.
I would say "NO" to my parents, or any other adult for that matter if I didn't want to do what they wanted me to do.
If a kid will NOT listen to you... if your WORDS are no longer keeping him at bay, then you need to at least bring out the THREAT of physical violence to get that kid to obey you.
Some children can be raised effectively without ever raising your hand to them. Some children cannot. It's as simple as that.
