| I really liked how they did him the movie, but a friend of mine who is super into fantasy vehemently hates it for some reason. Says something about how he liked the illustration on the front of one of his books, I can't remember which or who it was by offhand.
Hell, I love every part of that movie, cept for two parts: the useless part where Arwen gives up her immortality (okay, so it will probably be important later on, but I really resent how they increased her role in the story, I could care less if the story is centered entirely on men), and the part where Galadriel is tempted by the ring. I just thought the special effects and the way they made her voice sound there was really cheesey. And the impression I got from the book when reading it wasn't that she got all loud when saying those lines, it just seemed like a lecture to me. Whatever though. |
