Not that it hasn't been hashed over 1000 times but... I recently built my gf a new cpu and used the powersuply that came with the tower. It was a off-brand 350watt. Since i built the cpu she was getting irregular freezes and crashes. After testing the ram, processor, and HD i finally gave up... About 2 weeks ago i talked to a friend of mine and he assured me it was the p-supply. He siad often times ram issues are really just problems with the power.
Replace dit and havnt had the same issue yet....
So the extra 100 bucks for a good power supply is definetly worth it.. you dont know how many times i have formated that cpu thinking it was a bad install or bad ram.. sigh
