as a noob, walking from city to city to city and then back to that very first city can get very annoying...

If you have to spend more than 2-3 minutes running somewhere that's too long. It's just boring after you've run the route a couple of times.

I'd like to see faster run speed for players (and mobs, for balance reasons) and maybe some ability to bind nearer high level spots for high level players.

Maybe you could have a temporary bind spot that keeps you bound to an object (druid stones or an ancient tree or something) just for that play session. You'd still have to run to the bind object initially, but then if died you'd respawn at the bind object instead of in town.

Anyway, I think most MMO veterans will agree that having to spend more than a couple of minutes travelling isn't much fun.

Mounts are too high level. Why should you only be able to get around fast when you are high level.

is "immersion factor" what they call forcing a player to spend an inordinate amount of time putzing about (walking, gathering amazingly hard to find resources, fetch quests that go all over the map, etch) between actually doing something to progress and advance their PC?

just wondering

there's some degree of this that is appropriate to present challenge, and some that's just mind-numbing tedium. it's ultimately why i prefer to play mmorpgs in beta over GR, because the dev guys are generally kinder about tedium to their testers.

Does this mean we'll be denied the pleasure of your company in release? Darn. Maybe Blizz will give you a personal blimp at level 1 to keep you.
Blizzard, listen to the peoples! You know waypoints in Diablo2? Put those in the game with all of them activated automatically. Then send call girls to the players houses because getting laid requires too much "dating". And hairbrushing. Fix hair please.
