I end up buying a whole new computer every 3 years anyway. I just happen to have a higher bankroll, and i like being able to play EQ on my recliner while watching my big screen TV instead of in my basement on my 20 inch TV or whatever.
And no, it's really not practical to set up a desktop in yer living room.
As for it being a desktop not a laptop when you stick huge processors in them and that if you try to run it off batteries it will use them up in no time, so what? When do you not have access to a wall outlet anyway? Or a car lighter port? The only time I can see not having access to power is on a plane, but i'd imagine most people don't do a ton of flying and if they do they can bring two batteries anyway.
I don't really see yer arguments working, unless you are on a budget, in which case that's not my problem.
(BTW they own for LAN parties too)
