The ending very much surprised me, it blew away a theory I had had for years about how it would finish.

I ended up reading the second half in one lump, just couldn't put it down. No fucking clue why though, 2011 before we get to the proper end, I didn't really need to rush

Edit - negged for "cry baby mode" ? I thought the book forum was immune to most of the fuckwits that troll mmorpg general, I guess not. Oh well, shame people who write those don't have the braincells to rub together to generate a relevant response instead of a random load of nonsense that doesnt relate to what I said.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read: I had thought for a long time they would get around the Rand dying part by having Lews Therin in his head. Somehow the final battle would have had Lews "doing something that turns the tide and wins the battle but at the cost of his conciousness finally being lost forever" and that being classed as the death to satisfy the viewings/prophecies etc and Rand actually gets to live at the end, happily ever after. Without any other evidence to support it now, I guess Rand is going to be brown bread by the very end! I ended up reading the second half in one lump, just couldn't put it down.
