| Modern swagger in rock? It's Creed. Creed is the direct evolution of 80s hair bands. Otherwise, the only genre that I can think of the top of my head where swagger still exists is probably rap. Everyone else grew up.
Back to classic rock. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with it. It was fantastic for its time, I am sure.
What I am saying is that those who basically lock themselves into one genre, and one genre that by its very definition hasn't seen a new release since the end of the 1970s, those people strike me as someone who have chosen a very "safe" genre to identify themselves with to minimize potential criticisms of their taste.
Don't you get tired listening to the same "greatest" 15-30 albums by LZ, Who, Beatles, Doors, whatever? Every time I hear a classic rock song somewhere nowadays, my stomach starts churning and I'm not even 30 yet. |
