There are plenty of options for front pocket wallets beyond just clips, for example the
Slimmy; it's all personal preference. Personally I don't use one but I would prefer not to have a clip just because I wouldn't want it potentially scratching my phone or something. I'd definitely prefer a slimmer wallet for my back pocket than what I have now but I haven't had too much luck finding one that can close with the amount of cards (need my Qdoba card!) and cash I tend to carry.
