The PC is a great platform for this. It has high market penetration, and unlike what you said, children are more than willing to sit down at a PC and play their favourite games. Many of my cousins and nieces who are in the 7 - 10 age bracket beg to be let on the computer to play their childrens webgames when they visit (I forget the names of the games).
