I hope your rewrite has made your curse client small, portable and on demand a la WOW Matrix. You don't need much for a front end, just something simple and efficient. The old curse client was a beast. It also was akin to an old TSR program that just sat there eating cycles. I hope it still doesn't behave in that manner. |
For me, the current client uses 1-2% cpu and less than 20MB of RAM while doing a update scan, and 0% cpu while idle. The only time it uses a significant amount of resources is while actually updating addons, but that's pointless to do while the game is running anyway since you still have to restart WoW to load them.
