| Awesome. A bunch of Red Sox arguing about what the Yankees should do to start winning again.
Obama won because he's cute, he talks good, and he isn't Bush. Democrats lead in Congress because the 2006 elections took place when Bush was at his lowest and no one could figure out how to sell "Republican" when the Republican leader was considered a failure by so many.
In other words: it's all backlash. It's like a chick shacking up with a beefy, tatooed construction worker after her metro-sexual rich business man cheats on her.
The Reps got nothing conservative done in the 6 years they were fully in charge. That's a good way to lose conservatives. An even better way is to listen to a bunch of liberals tell them that they need to be even less conservative if they want to win. "If the Republicans want to win again, they should become more like Democrats". Right.
Put some staunch fiscal conservatives (the kind that actually want to shrink government/cut spending, not the kind that just want to lower taxes) in party leadership positions to counter the soon to come government expansions and the Republicans will win more votes come 2010. |
