| I have been playing SB for a while now.
Lag is a huge issue. Nothing sucks worse than dieing to lag. Both PVE and PVP encounters really suffer from lag.
Content is the second largest issue. Most of the high level players will randomly roll low level groups just for something to do. In fact, a large part of the population believe that RPKing is what the end game in SB was designed to be.
Player building is THE ONLY tradeskill, and everyone does it. Everyone I know in game has created at least 4 other high level players. Don't like the way it turned out? Roll another one. Even with skil retrains, there are some things that cannot be undone.
Player balance -- A healer Channy can wear light armor, and with self buffs hit about 1k defense and at least 30% block. On the other hand, my meat shield Minitaur warrior with 5k HP base has only 355 defense while in offensive mode. He also hits for about 350 per swing, with about 70% hit to miss ratio. My channy can hit for 1000 at a faster rate than the warrior swings, with 95% hit to miss, and great defense. And the warrior runs out of stamina and stops swinging long before my channy runs out of manna. Which would you play?
There is alot of variety in the game, but if you are making a PVP player, you want to win. There are really few 'winning' player templates.
I really wonder if there are enough Midevil Quake players to keep SB afloat.
The on-line numbers have gone down alot lately. On the Fear server we have about a third of the players now that we did when I started playing. In my guild, there are only 4 players left that I knew from when I joined. |
