the best burger chain in the country (In 'N Out)

For sure it's a solid step up from Mcdonalds, but as an east coaster who went in with admittedly over-hyped expectations, In 'N Out was a bit of a letdown. Sure, it's as good a fast food burger as you'll find, but it's still a good step down from your local burger place.
But I'm not knocking LA's food in general. I love Mexican and Sushi and Thai and that type of thing is here in plenty. And there's a ton of little holes in the wall with amazing food. The best sandwich I've had in this town came from Larchmont Wine & Cheese. Little place in a sorta yuppie area with a sandwich counter and it was fucking fantastic.
My search for great BBQ in Los Angeles however...yet to be fulfilled. Any tips anyone?
-Er, this is a giant derail...sorry about that. I don't want to take anything away from Dunkin' Donuts...that place seriously has the best fucking coffee.
