I maxed my upload for about a month and now I can't DL aove 400kbs(when I used to get 1.5Mbs pretty consistently except when limited by the other end of the connection).
Pretty lame since I pay extra on top of the standard fees for a broader connection.
I think the reason DSL companies don't care is that #1, their infrastructure is totally different and the shared connection aspect isn't as much an issue, and #2 at least in the U.S.A. DSL speeds are so slow that even running 24/7 you can't get really high numbers anyways.
Varies a lot by area though, least where I live you can't get DSL above 3mbs where cable goes up to 30mbs and 50mbs Fios is "near-by" |
