Public schools do that also Jedah with "college prep" and "magnet school" programs. Watch that video. The Portland Charter school featured in that video accept the LOWEST-INCOME students regardless of their grades and they went from the lowest test schools in the city to the absolute highest.


You can't FIND a Kaplan reading center that will turn down any kid so long as he can afford the tuition. Nowhere.

I know what you mean about exclusivity in private schools (even some parochial schools) but public school systems ALSO have "magnet" schools which exclude based on grades.

The fact is there are charter schools in Utah, Ohio and the privatized program in Wisconsin that accept low-performance students and CONSISTENTLY outperform public school testing grades with those students today. Right now.

Despite that, the fact that Obama wants to sustain that system--and worse REWARD the same teacher unions to perpetrate it---is the most reprehensible example of his political opportunism.
