Blacking Out/Memory Loss is not caused by how much you drink, its caused by the speed your blood alcohol goes up.

Personally, water by my bed, I try to drink atleast 1 gatorade before sleep, right when I get up. It has some electrolytes that'll help.

Personally the best trick I found (which works for me because I'm a super night owl) don't go to sleep til you start to feel yourself sobering up a little. I've gotten done drinking around 2, but not gone to bed til 4/5am works really well.

If I wake up with a hangover. Tortilla chips + water. Its easy on the stomach and will prevent hangover puking. Throw an Advil or two with that. And then go back to sleep for another hour or 4.

Alternatively I've had hangovers on morning I had to go to work. (outdoor heavy labor) Basically routine as usual. Big breakfast (eggs, waffles, toast, bacon that sort of stuff) get to work drink gatorade, and just get to it. About 30 minutes of heavy work clears out a hangover pretty damn fast.
