| The thing with AIC is they barely got a chance to really make good music. Their first CD's were a little rough (Facelift, Sap, even Dirt a little), and their last few ones were really starting to show off their talent (Untitled, Jar of Flies). It's a huge shame that well before Layne's death the band had basically given up recording a new album because of his drug problems.
Jerry Cantrell's two solo albums are pretty good, if not great. He DID write most of the music and a good portion of the lyrics in AIC, so it's pretty similar. A little more laid back and bluesy or something though. I haven't heard much from the rest of the band, I think Mike Inez (bassist) was touring with another band or something. Whatever though, AIC was about Layne and Jerry. |
