Load is a great album and Reload is decent. St. Anger is shit and anyone who enjoys music, but refuses to worship at the alter of "my favorite bands can do no wrong" will tell you as much.
The really sad thing is that Metallica released "I Disappear" on the Mission Impossible 2 soundtrack between Reload and St. Anger, and that got everyone I know pumped for the album which turned out to be an unmitigated abortion of music. |
I obviously don't agree with you because myself and others do enjoy St. Anger. I'll concede the point that many don't like it which is fine with me. Like I said before, I'm not a fan of really anything off Ride the Lightning which was one of their old school hard albums. I liked Reload better than Load. Reload seemed a bit harder to me, hence the title Reload imo...
I can argue I don't worship Metallica or think they can do no wrong but they've done less wrong than most other bands imo. I hate Nothing Else Matters, to me that's an abortion to all the rest of their music but so what? They released some ballad I didn't care for and the next 2 albums were soft. I didn't buy St. Anger right away, I picked it up after I saw the St. Anger video and saw it was much harder than anything off Load/Reload...
