| First off: I have seen numerous people mention the term or genre "emo" before. What the fuck is emo?
Second, I didn't like the album at all at first. There was a definite progression from one album to the next on their first releases, where they got more polished, the songs were tighter, and they began to experiment a bit more. The new CD almost seems to be a step back at first, with one or two exceptions. The album sounds like it should have come out before Around the Fur, even.
But after enough listens, I started to warm up to it. I quite like it now, although I don't think it's any all that great. Doesn't even come close to touching White Pony, but it's still pretty good. |
