The last time I tried to play Goldeneye I was actually stunned by how horribly it held up. I had a friggin' blast playing it 4 player for hours and hours when it was new, but I couldn't even stomach 5 minutes the last time I tried. I agree for the most part.
At least once a year, however, I hook up my N64 and spend a day or two playing through Mario 64 getting 120 stars.
Another detraction from the N64 that I don't think anyone has mentioned: the control stick had no lasting power. I went through a ton of controllers because the control stick became too loose. I even changed my control style on Goldeneye so that I could play it without relying too heavily on the control stick.
