Do you think that at the end of all this, they'll saddle up to Hu Jintao with a big bill and be like "hey man, here's the tab. Pay up." No, that's not the way it works. International aid organizations will be spending millions upon this trying to help people out, same way they did for the Indonesian tsunami, Katrina, and so on.
I just really find such an "us and them" mentality incredibly distasteful. Even in the wake of something like Katrina or 9/11, despite the US being the most wealthy and powerful country in the world, numerous countries offered and contributed aid and assistance in the recovery efforts. Maybe the US didn't need it or want it, and maybe those offering it could barely afford to, but it was a nice gesture that appears to have completely bypassed you.
I remember reading a story about some African villagers in the middle of fucking nowhere, that have never even seen a two story building let alone a skyscraper, who had heard of 9/11 and despite barely even comprehending what happened offered their livestock to the US as assistance. They've got virtually no worldly possessions and live a nomadic lifestyle from millenia ago, and yet they were willing to help in any way they could.
If you don't see the problem in your attitude, then there's probably not much I can say to change your mind or opinion.
