| This movie was the shit. I kind of figured the Wachowski brother and sister were hacks based on their post-first-Matrix direction, but Speed Racer made me jump back on their side of the fence. I don't understand critics and I'm sad it's doing so poorly. This is the kind of movie that you see when you're 11 and then re-watch 15 years later to remember how awesome movies were when you were 11.
It moved well, it was written well for what it was trying to be, and it was ballsy to spend $120 million on something that looks intentionally cheesy. It all just worked, I thought, and if I was younger I would have peed my pants all the way through.
Bravo Wachowskis, eat a dick critics.
