The best game experiences are from developers that don't hype their product beyond reasonable expectations for both their team and the public. Those who do are setting themselves (and their fans) up for failure and disappointment. |
What? Quake is amazing. Easily one of (if not THE) best fps ever made. The online experience was breath-taking and TeamFortress was made originally for QuakeWorld. TFC to HL was insanely bad compared to the original TF and TF2 is just a kid version that require hardly any true skill or strategy if compared to the original one. I miss those times, a lot.
I agree with you about the hype part, Aion is a game that NCSoft is careful to hype, but that took me by surprise when I played the closed beta 2. It's amazing. We'll see how it will do though.
