Is something like a DPS shaman viable? I don't really want to do a shadow priest again, which is what I had before, and I don't really like pet classes.

Enhancement shaman is very viable dps in PVE, but prepare to bitch about having to wear leather dps gear and suck in PVP.
Elemental shaman is good in lower tier raiding but starts to suck later on, however still pretty damn good in PVP.
