| I agree with the above post; there has yet to be an MMO since EQ that has really been "OMG AMAZING". I was a huge UO player so EQ was not my first, but both of those MMO's delivered in so many ways. Im still looking for a "next-gen" MMO that will blow me away. 1st generation(UO/EQ) were very unique and had elements in them that no one had seen/played before.. 2nd gen(daoc/wow/coh/etc) just seemed to be polished versions of 1st gen mmos. Im looking for a generation of games that is really innovative.. something that isnt just rehashed concepts from older games.. I was kinda hoping VG was going to be this game, but we all know the nose-dive that took.
personally, I think for pvp Shadowbane was the closest to a next-gen game that I have played. They took daoc border kingdoms and made them 10x better by having them player built / designed / defended / etc. Unfortunately that game failed miserably in other aspects :-/ |
