| I put EQ2 with Vanguard - both imo failed for the same reason, and I think MMOs will keep failing. EQ2 'changed' things from EQ that didnt need to be...I am sure 85% of the EQ fanbase would have shifted over to EQ2 if EQ2 was a /true/ contenuation aka EQ with better visuals - new BUT THE SAME/FAMILIAR locations, gods, quests etc- that 85% would be more than their current base... the heritage quests in EQ2 are great- but many times soo disconnected from their actual heritage its dumb- fun to get the item but the lore is jacked up...
Vanguard again took things and just made them convaluted and "new and different" for the sake of new and different...not for inprovement.
I am disappointed in all mmos and their lack of "Epic Raids" Sorry I must have been spoiled by EQ's just awsome 72+ raids pwning gods and dragons... the community aspect that keeping a guild together that can bring to the table 70 players a night is much much more than the flippan piss that are guilds in all modern mmos... WoW has the player base to support big ol epic raids- imo top end raiding should be bigger than 40mans...wowbies think omg 40mans are soo hard to keep a group of players together! and coordinate...pfft - 72man raids could really turn it around for WoW.
;-)
i am done rambeling...for now
