The Halo series is fun to play, but if you've played one you've played them all. I've played all 3 a LOT, both single player and multiplayer, including online, and I don't remember part 3 braving any new territory it terms of game play. Graphically, sure, but nothing in it ever made me go "Man this is a whole new game!"
