You gotta love living in the Midwest. When we lived there, we had a brick house that we only paid 120K for. I was working on corporate salary, so making city wages but living in a rural community means you live a good life. We were knocking back 54% of our take-home living in the Midwest. Its been quite a shock moving to the Atlanta area, where comparable homes are double.
But on the flip side, since moving from the Midwest to the city, my wife has been able to get a job paying her 300% what she made in Hickville.
