Requiring you to win a few arena games to buy the honor gear does NOT require you to win ANY Battlegrounds.
I on the other hand, take every game seriously. I always try to win. I don't have a good arena team though, I enjoy battlegrounds more. Someone like me is being cut from the equation here. I'm not BAD because I don't have a 1800-2k arena team. I won't have much incentive to queue or win BGs any more though, since I can't buy the stuff.
Mixing arena requirements and honor gear makes no sense. |
Most of the people I see running around nowadays are wearing full Gladiator (Season 1) gear, full honor gear (Vindicators/vets, depending on when they started), and are not on an arena team. This is kinda baffling. It takes less than an hour a week to lose your way to about a piece every month or 2. It's significantly better gear than the garbage that these guys are wearing around right now, yet they have no desire to do it. Why? I dunno. Couldn't even fathom a guess. All of my 70 alts are on arena teams. There's no reason for them not to be. It's such a minimal time investment, even if I lose 9 games a week.
Could these people truly be the lowest common denominator? To blow 280k honor and not care one bit about speeding up the gear acquisition via other means? It certainly seems so. They MUST afk their way to their honor gear, or basically play with no idea what the strategy of the game should be because they know they're going to be rewarded for their terrible play anyway. There's no reason to bother trying to improve, they're gonna get their one mark and 100-200 honor anyway.
By the way, if you ever want some good entertainment, go grab the flag in EOTS and sit on it, and tell those fucking retards to start playing correctly. The shitstorm you start is pretty unbelievable, and even after holding the flag for 8 minutes there were still 2 people waiting in the middle, like I'm suddenly going to decide that 9 people losing the fight for the flag while our bases get swarmed is a great plan.
