My thoughts - arena requirements on honor gear won't change the situation in BGs. Why would it? I guess it may be a SLIGHT improvement, as you may have a few of the really bad PVPers quitting. Do you really think those who have the arena rating to qualify, the 1600 and 1700 arena teams, aren't going to just sit in AB and lose their way to the honor pieces, just like they do now? Requiring you to win a few arena games to buy the honor gear does NOT require you to win ANY Battlegrounds.
I on the other hand, take every game seriously. I always try to win. I don't have a good arena team though, I enjoy battlegrounds more. Someone like me is being cut from the equation here. I'm not BAD because I don't have a 1800-2k arena team. I won't have much incentive to queue or win BGs any more though, since I can't buy the stuff.
Mixing arena requirements and honor gear makes no sense.
