Noel Devine video of his freshmen highlights made by a couple of WVU fan posters on the scout.com site (yea, its a homer video). After seeing him shred OUs defense with that entire returning O line and Pat White (along with leading all freshmen in the nation in average yards per carry), I could easily see him leading the nation in rushing yards this year, but there are some other great RBs out there as well...Knowshon Moreno, McKnight, Wells, the kid from OU and so forth (btw who is the new guy going to be for Texas Ham-n-Cheese?). This is a great year to be a big fan of running backs (like me), I love watching all those kids play. I think he has a legit shot to be in the running for heisman, I mean, to be the most highly recruited player out of the state of Florida since Deion Sanders, he lives up to the hype.
The run at 2:35 is just plain fucking sick (lol, note the 2 Maryland defenders hitting each other trying to tackle him), looked like Barry Sanders son or some shit (even the gameday ESPN crew on that game were like, "yea that was Barry Sanders like").
Other notable Devine quotes as testament to his godliness out of high school, and he barely got any PT this year with Mr lost-a-step Slaton as the starter:
"His junior tape is nothing short of extraordinary. The Class of 2007 marks my fifth class of scouting in the field, and this is the best high school player I've seen." --Scott Kennedy, Scout.com
"He's the best high school player I've ever seen, and that includes Reggie Bush." --Mike Farrell, Rivals.com
"There is speed, and then there is Noel Devine. Some players can accelerate out of cuts to show their cat-like quickness; Devine actually accelerates through his cuts. I've never seen a player continue to get faster while he is changing directions." --Scott Kennedy, Scout.com
If it's not obvious, I have a hardcore mancrush and would have his half black babies np.
Now away from my complete homerish Devine manlove:
Other things I'm looking forward to this year:
October 24th: Morgantown, WV Thursday night: WVU vs Auburn. Auburn, thank you for being one of the very few SEC teams not afraid to leave the south and play a tough OOC game. This game should be great, and Auburn fans seem to think they will beat us...little do they realize late October nights in Morgantown are fucking cold as hell. Weather might be a huge factor. Another thing Auburn fans dont realize, the spread of WVU is something nobody outside of the Big East has seen due to Pat White. Tebow, while incredible, is a fullback...Pat White can legitimately outrun most anyone on a defense (he was originally recruited by LSU to play CB....if that tells you anything about his speed). That said, Auburn does have a great D, but I think we win due to Auburn installing a new spread offense they have little to no experience running.
WVU at Colorado. CU go the best RB in the nation out of high school going into this year, Darrell Scott--whose hs tapes were crazy. Should be awesome seeing him and Devine on the field, but this game scares me more than any due to climate/altitude change. CU seems to be a team on the rise.
The entire SEC. Who will win it? This year with all the new studs gotten by Bama (best recruiting class in the country, gotta give Saban credit).-- Auburn, Florida, LSU (though now without RP will be very tough) and of course Georgia. I'm excited I'll get to watch all those games this year living down here in Atlanta.
OSU vs USC early, if you want the monkey off your back, this would be the first step in doing so Buckeyes.
